Happy New Year! I hope your 2019 is off to a great start. With each new year comes promise and predictions for what will follow. Some predictions are more obvious than others. Healthcare will move to the cloud in droves. Machine learning will see increased adoption in all four sectors of healthcare. Emerging technologies will be used to better personalize care. Those of us in this work have a pretty good idea this is coming.
Some other predictions may be a bit more nuanced. Like what, for example, will we see in the adoption of serverless technologies, containerization and Kubernetes? What will the landscape look like as we see healthcare payers, providers and life sciences shift from one cloud to multi-cloud? What will we need to be thinking about as more organizations move from Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) to SaaS and PaaS (Platform as a Service)?
My colleague Chris Bowen, our Chief Privacy & Security Officer and Founder at ClearDATA, and I recently sat down and put together some thoughts on what we’ll see in healthcare in 2019 for Healthcare Global Magazine. You can give our article a read here.
One thing is certain for 2019. There’s no time like the present to use emerging technologies to improve healthcare innovation and patient outcomes.
